For ten years, she graced our screens on the beloved show Friends. Recently, Jennifer Aniston showed off a strikingly dark tan on the cover of InStyle, drawing inspiration from a fan-favorite episode. Fans couldn’t help but notice the resemblance between the 50-year-old actress’s golden complexion and the humorous mishap Ross Geller had at a spray tanning salon.
For her InStyle cover, Jennifer Aniston showed off a surprisingly dark tan that caught fans’ attention. One Instagram user playfully referenced Ross’ infamous spray tan mishap from Friends, counting ‘1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi’ with a crying and laughing emoji. In the memorable scene, Ross tries to get an even tan but ends up with a comically uneven and overly dark result. Aniston’s tan may not have been as extreme, but it definitely brought back memories of the hilarious Friends moment.
Uh-oh! Fans couldn’t help but notice that Jen bore a striking resemblance to the scene where Ross Geller went a bit overboard at the spray tanning salon.
A user on Instagram shared a funny memory by saying ‘One Mississippi, Two Mississippi’ with a crying and laughing emoji.
One of her followers on Instagram joked, asking if she could possibly have any more self-tanner on. This humorous comment was reminiscent of the character Chandler from the TV show Friends.
Back in February, she celebrated her 50th birthday with a big party attended by her close friends and even her ex-husband Brad Pitt.
In the latest issue of a magazine published in October, the famous blonde actress talked about reaching the milestone of turning 50. Although she claimed she doesn’t feel any older, she confessed that the thought of having grey hair scares her.
Underwhelmed: A different follower on Instagram questioned, “Is it possible for her to have on any more self-tanner? (in a Chandler-like tone)”
“Ha! I saw someone on social media mentioning that Aniston’s fake tan totally gives off Ross’s tanning mishap vibes from that classic Friends episode.”
Surprise: In the memorable moment, Ross from “Friends” decided to freshen up his appearance by trying out a spray tan. He was advised to count down before rotating in the tanning booth to ensure an even glow on his entire torso.
While trying to figure out how to use the spray, Ross accidentally got sprayed in the face several times. As a result, he ended up with a slightly orange tint on the front of his body.
Actress Jennifer Aniston shared with InStyle that she is embracing the milestone of turning 50, especially during her photoshoot with Michael Thompson. “Hitting fifty was a moment that made me pause for a second,” she expressed. “I don’t feel any different, nothing’s slowing down.” Aniston highlighted that she feels physically fantastic, despite the sudden attention she’s receiving for looking great for her age. She mentioned the need for better conversation etiquette around such remarks and admitted she’s not quite ready for grey hair.
Furthermore, Aniston delved into the topic of women being pigeonholed into certain roles, stating that historically, women were not encouraged to have power. She finds power to be inherently attractive now and admires women for their intelligence, capabilities, and creativity. Interestingly, Aniston mentioned that the MeToo movement emerged just after she proposed her Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show,” set to premiere in November.
“I’m feeling great physically, but I find it strange that people are now commenting on my appearance by saying, ‘You look fantastic for your age.’ Let’s set some guidelines for how we talk and compliment others about their age and looks.”
“I have to admit, I really don’t want to see any grey hairs on my head,” she expressed.
The star of Murder Mystery expressed her thoughts on power and women’s intelligence, stating that she finds power, women’s intelligence, and creativity to be alluring. She also discussed the themes of power abuse, sexism, and women’s rights in the show. Aniston further emphasized her pride in being part of the series alongside Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. The show delves into the inner workings of a morning show, the lifestyles of news anchors, the obsession with celebrity culture, and the struggle against corruption. Additionally, the series sheds light on the mistreatment of women in society, especially in the workplace, throughout history.
The topic of aging is a trending conversation these days, especially with Aniston’s character on The Morning Show expressing concerns about being deemed too old for television.
Refusing to give in: She stands her ground and boldly proclaims to a room full of men in a conference room that she is determined to have control.
In her latest project, Jennifer Aniston found herself up against actress Reese Witherspoon, who portrays a younger TV star despite being just a few years younger in reality. Despite the age difference (Aniston is 50, Witherspoon is 43), Aniston reflected on how societal norms have shaped behaviors and attitudes, discussing the impact of sexism on individuals. She noted how silence can contribute to the perpetuation of harmful behaviors without one realizing it.
However, working on the show proved to be exhausting for Aniston. She compared the experience of filming “Morning Show” to making two movies consecutively over a seven-month period. After lengthy days on set, Aniston would continue working at home, reviewing footage and contributing to casting decisions. Once filming wrapped, she admitted to needing a week of rest to recover fully.
Aniston also revealed that her character’s style in the show was influenced by journalist Diane Sawyer, whom she has admired for years. Seeking inspiration, Aniston consulted with Sawyer to understand her aura of elegance and sophistication.
For me, watching a TV series used to involve being in a studio with an audience and five cameras. It was a 9 to 5 job. However, with Morning Show, it felt like working on ‘two movies consecutively for seven months.’
Reflecting on her early years, she mentioned how she felt like a mature adult by the time she turned 25. Despite numerous setbacks, she persevered. ‘I left my hometown, faced failures with six TV shows, and waited tables in New York for years before achieving any success. I even tried my hand at telemarketing, selling time-shares in the Poconos, failing to make a single sale. I was awful at it. I questioned why we had to bother people during dinner time.’
Her journey also included various odd jobs. ‘I used to cut hair for $10 in junior high. I probably could cut your hair too,’ she joked. She even used to trim her father, John Aniston’s hair, who starred in the soap opera, Days of Our Lives. ‘I used to cut my dad’s hair, and he was on a soap opera. However, he confessed to me 15 years ago that he would let the on-set stylist clean it up.’
